Birth of the Strixat

Strixat are not creatures that spawn from mating, they are born from high amounts of emotional energy, they are created from the excess of it; for example, the energy and emotion from a family in a graveyard, leaving trinkets for a lost loved one or the raw emotion of humans charging into war.

In place of an egg, Strixat will hatch from small trinkets or natural objects, brooches, gems, stones even things as strange as plant bulbs or seeds.

The more energy in an area the faster the Strixat will hatch, some may take years and others a matter of hours or minutes, when they are out of their confines and born they grow and change appearance as they mature and feed off other sources of energy.

A Strixat is shown absorbing energy from its place of birth, this Strix is shown with a standard slate grey coat, it will change more as it matures and grows in life.

the Strixat species was created in late 2018 by the user Secret Chicken Art on Instagram, she pioneered the species and made all of the art featured on this website.

she has since left the furry fandom for new things and in her place I (Velvet Guts) have been given this species to watch over and make sure it is taken care of in her absence.

the Strixat species has been a love of mine since I saw it and made my own character and suit, I hope to keep this species alive and running for many years to come.
